Fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) piping, also known as fiberglass reinforced plastic (GRP) piping, is a type of composite pipe used in a variety of industrial applications. It is composed of a reinforced plastic such as polyester or vinyl ester resin, combined with a reinforcing material such as glass fiber roving or chopped strand mat, and then cured and formed into the desired shape. FRP piping is strong, lightweight, corrosion resistant, and has a long service life. It is used in a variety of applications, from chemical processing and wastewater treatment to water supply and fire protection systems. FRP piping is also used in marine and offshore applications, such as for oil and gas production, desalination, and offshore power generation.
