Further Details:
Sand filters are provided with water pump for generating necessary operating pressure. For Filtration, water is passed through multi-grade sand filter at a pressure of 3.5 kg/cm2 that reduce the presence of suspended solids in the water.
The filter effectively removes suspended solid of sized up to 30-50 micron to around 5 ppm. The sand filter requires to be washed for 20-30 minutes with normal water.
